Achievements and Case Studies Energy Recovery Devices DeROs® and pumps for the Middle East begin operation
The Energy Recovery Devices DeROs® and a set of pumps that we designed and manufactured for a seawater desalination plant in Saudi Arabia and delivered to a domestic plant manufacturer began operation in January 2023. This seawater desalination plant has a water production capacity of 10,000 m³/day, and our DeROs® and pumps were adopted as a package for the low-pressure multi-stage high-efficiency seawater desalination system developed by a domestic plant manufacturer. DeROs® is characterized by the world's highest level of energy recovery efficiency and very little change in the salinity concentration of the reverse osmosis membrane feed water, which contributes to reducing the power required for pumps. The pumps used include 14 high-efficiency pumps, including a horizontal-axis multi-stage pump for reverse osmosis desalination, and the combination of DeROs® contributes to energy savings and greenhouse gas emissions. We will continue to engage in the seawater desalination business in accordance with our purpose of "Enriching Lives and Shaping a Better Future Through Water and Air." With the start of operation of this seawater desalination system, we intend to continue contributing to solving water problems in the Middle East, India, Africa and other regions.
